Guidance note - pollution response plan

Although you should have done your best to prevent a spill, one may still occur. However, quick and efficient action can minimise the impact and save you the cost of a clean up operation or even prosecution.

Pollution response plan

Even if you don’t have an environmental permit, which requires you to have a pollution response plan, it’s still worth having one if you store hazardous substances, e.g. oil. Having a plan for responding to leaks and spills ensures that your staff have the right information to hand in the event of an emergency. Our Guidance Note - Pollution Response Plan includes an outline of the information to include in your emergency procedure. By following our guide you will have pulled together all the essential information you need in the event of a spill including plans of the site, emergency contacts and details of spillage materials.
