Your personal library of environmental policies, procedures, checklists and forms to help you comply with the increasing volume of environmental legislation.
You need to keep a close eye on your oil storage. This means that you should carry out regular checks on your storage systems and any areas in which oil is being used or decanted.
To help you carry out a brief audit of your site, or to carry out regular checks on your storage vessels, use our Oil Storage Checklist . It’s very simple to follow, only needing “yes” or “no” answers, and can be used as part of an audit trail or environmental management system.
Tip. If you identify any potential or actual problems, these should be formally recorded and immediate action taken to prevent a spill or one occurring again. Any ground that’s identified as polluted should be cleaned and treated to prevent further pollution.
