Register of environmental legislation - waste

Having a professional-looking Register of Environmental Legislation is a good way of showing that you know what your doing. If you’re a contracting organisation, it can help you to pass contractor vetting procedures.

Why you need our register

The first step in most environmental management systems is usually to identify the legislation that applies and how. But even if you don’t want to go for certification under ISO14001, it doesn’t hurt to show that you know a bit about the waste legislation that affects you. Our Register of Environmental Legislation will show that you’re up-to-date with the latest legal requirements and that you’ve carefully considered how they affect you. Part 1 lists the most commonly applicable waste legislation in England.

Adapting the contents

After a short introduction the register includes a table with four columns: 1. Legislation 2. Summary 3. Regulator 4. Aspects of activities affected (Describe how and why the legislation affects you. Refer to associated internal documentation). The first three columns are completed and the fourth is free for you to provide details of how the legislation affects your business and what you’ve done about it.
